The queen ant monitors the environment to find food by sending out worker ants. They cannot get food easily in that place. So, they depend on human beings for food and shelter.

Insects cannot survive without water and food like any human being or creature. They can live without water for seven to ten days and survive without food for ten to fifteen days.
They can find moisture on earth in any house, gutter, garden, or walls. However, they cannot easily find water or moisture in space, making it difficult for them to survive.

Ants live in gardens, ground, trees, houses, walls, and other objects on Earth. There is no natural environment for them to survive in space. They cannot find places to grasp and cannot stay in space.
How many ants were sent to space?
Astronauts in orbit and scientists on the ground observed the behavior of pavement ants in zero or microgravity and earth gravity in January 2014.
Eight colonies of pavement ants were sent to space, each colony containing 70 to 75 pavement ants. They were placed in small, crystalline plastic boxes. Each box contained a nesting area where the ants lived.
They wanted to experiment with how they adjust to zero or microgravity. Ants cannot survive in an environment with zero or microgravity.
They need oxygen to breathe and survive. They lost their abilities and skills in space due to weightlessness. They did not find the proper place to maintain their lives and were freaked out, and started to grasp the ground to save their lives.
Can ants survive on Mars?
There is a huge difference in the environment of Mars and Earth, so living organisms find difficulties in adjusting to the newer environment on Mars.
They are adapted to live on the Earth as it completely supports their survival by providing oxygen, which is not available on Mars. Their bodies need oxygen to breathe and cellular metabolism.
In addition, there is no water on Mars, which means ants cannot maintain life on this planet because their bodies can get dry after losing moisture.
Their exoskeleton falls off after drying, leading to death when they are not exposed to water for more than a week.
There is some water that is salty, and ants cannot drink salty water, which can disturb their normal functioning and pose a risk of death.
In the same way, they do not find any suitable food to meet their energy requirements, as there is no life on Mars. Therefore, they do not find any insects, plants, or other living creatures to consume them as food.
Moreover, they commonly depend on humans for their food or nutrition and live close to them. Therefore, it seems challenging for these social insects to live without interacting with other creatures.
Therefore, ants can survive on Earth, but these tiny creatures can’t maintain life on Mars, where they do not have oxygen, food, and water to ensure their survival.
